Using an FTP client that is pre-installed on your desktop computer or laptop, you can set up a connection to your hosting server and copy all of the web files that you need with several mouse clicks. This is done using an intuitive graphical interface and it is as simple as dragging & dropping the abovementioned files. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is the fact that you can set up separate accounts, each with a different level of access to your online storage space, so if you need to provide a third party with access, for example – a web designer, they’ll be able to connect only to a particular directory and won’t be able to access the rest of your content or any other information, such as personal details. Three must-haves are needed in order to be able to make an FTP connection – a hostname, which is usually an IP or a domain, a username and a password.

FTP Accounts in Website Hosting

Our website hosting plans will allow you to set up numerous FTP accounts with only a couple of mouse clicks through the Hepsia Control Panel and to indicate what files and folders each one can access. There’s no upper limit to the total number of accounts that you’re allowed to create, so you will be able to have as many as you want at any particular time. If you don’t want to use a given FTP account anymore or in case a designer has completed their task and you don’t want them to access the website content any longer, you can simply remove the account in question. The FTP section of the Hepsia Control Panel will allow you to see all currently existing accounts displayed alphabetically, together with different options, which you can access with a single click. You’ll be able to update the access path and the password, to download an auto-configuration file, and so on. FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our semi-dedicated servers are incredibly powerful, which makes them excellent for hosting multiple Internet sites. Speaking of which, we have decided not to put a restriction on the number of FTP accounts that you can set up, so you can have a separate account for each Internet site that you host on our semi-dedicated servers. All FTP accounts will be listed in alphabetical order in the corresponding section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with each semi-dedicated server account. For any of them, you will be able to see the access path and to modify it, if necessary. What’s more, you can set up the account in a client of your choice by downloading an auto-configuration file and installing it on your home computer, which will save you time.
